Dress The Part

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

This is gonna sound stupid…but you would be amazed at the people I have interviewed who turn up in wacky clothes, black tie and black shirt as if they’re going clubbing or something, never mind jeans, t-shirts and even some who actually wear dirty clothes.

If you want to dress to impress at any interview its really … really simple:

1) Dark grey or Blue suit.

2) Pure white shirt (no strips, spots or anything)

3) Dark blue tie.

4) Polished shoes.  ..and I mean proper shoes not sneakers or trainers.

Just stick to this formula and its a winner guaranteed.  oh and remove earings (if you’re a guy), nose rings and any others.  Don’t worry you can put them in when you start the job – but don’t risk meeting an interview who doesn’t like these things.
